Netball

Netball is the biggest participant sport at PLC Armidale.

In 2015, our College registered eleven teams in the local Armidale & District Netball Association, making it the second biggest Club in the competition.

Girls are able to participate both competitively and socially.

IGSSA Netball

Independent selectors are invited each year to select our Senior and Junior IGSSA teams in Term 1. Team selections are usually conducted before the end of Term 1.

The selected Squads then train regularly until travelling to Sydney for the first round of IGSSA competition matches.

Our coaches are highly qualified. Our Senior IGSSA Coach is also the NSW Under 17 Squad Assistant Coach as well as NIAS Netball Squad Coach.

Each of our teams is allocated a coach who is usually a University student or staff member. Our Senior players are encouraged to undertake coaching and officiating courses and responsibilities, as well as to help mentor our younger girls, fostering their love for the sport.

The IGSSA Competition is held in Sydney during Term 3.

The dates for 2016 are:

Round 1 July 29/30

Round 2 August 26/27

Finals  September 16/17

Other Competitions

PLC Armidale also enters our teams into various other valuable competitions such as the NSW Netball Schools Competition and the National Primary Games in Tamworth.

Many of our players are also involved in Armidale Representative teams as well as in the Northern Inland Academy of Sport (NIAS) Netball Squad.

To be able to participate in Netball, each girl is required to be registered with the local Association as well as complete a Netball Sports Contract, which is available here:
