extension & support
We acknowledge the individuality of our students, that each has different abilities and learning styles. We offer a comprehensive extension and support program to support the diverse needs of our students.
Extension & enrichment
At PLC Armidale, provisions are made to extend and support the academic, social and spiritual growth of your daughter.
Extension activities are offered to students with gifts and talents in specific areas and support is available for students at each stage of their learning.
Challenge and extension activities are provided in the key learning areas, and there are opportunities for individuals and groups to work in their classes with our Director of Student Learning Support and Extension.
All of our Junior School students are tested in spelling, reading and numeracy, using standardised testing and running records.
These results, together with class assessments and observations, are analysed by class teachers and the Director of Learning Support and Extension.
Individual learning programs are devised and implemented for students requiring support and extension.
In consultation with parents/carers these students are provided with individual and small group tuition to maximise learning potential and address individual needs.
Teachers are highly skilled at differentiation in the classroom and continually update their skills and knowledge with research-based professional development.
