Leadership

At PLC Armidale we like all our students to experience leadership. From Pre-Kindergarten right through to Year 6, all girls are encouraged to initiate ideas, be good listeners, support others and speak confidently in front of an audience.

All  students are taught the skills required for leadership and are encouraged to grow in this area. The opportunities develop self-assurance in the girls. They enjoy the responsibilities leadership brings, become well organised, learn to think about the needs of others and understand what it means to be a representative of their peers.

All classes from Kindergarten to Year 6 are represented in the SRC. Each class elects representatives and the Year 6 representatives chair the meetings. At these meetings, the concerns and ideas of each class are brought to the attention of the SRC and discussed. Follow up action is often required and the representatives undertake to do this, with the assistance of a teacher if necessary.
