The boarding facilities at PLC Armidale are welcoming, attractive and homely. They are well maintained and girls are encouraged to treat the facilities well and take pride in their surroundings for both themselves and others around them.
We are fortunate to have three Boarding Houses located on site at PLC Armidale, Austin, Hilton and Todd McBean.
We offer our Year 5 to Year 10 students a private individual bedroom and study space within a dormitory of six students. Year 11 students share a bedroom for two, whilst our Year 12 girls enjoy single-room accommodation with two large desks. The Boarding House Captain who is elected each year, enjoys the benefit of a single room with its own ensuite.
Wireless internet is available in the Boarding House, which is carefully monitored by our staff and IT Department.
All Boarders have the use of a number of spacious , comfortable common rooms, equipped with modern kitchens and a variety of recreational facilities including foosball, air hockey, data projectors and televisions,Wii games, pianos, board games and craft resources.
In addition to the facilities within the boarding houses, our Boarders have access to a range of sporting and music facilities throughout the school, including synthetic tennis courts, trampoline, gymnasium, athletics track, bicycle tracks, music practice rooms, as well as beautiful gardens, grounds and safe outdoor spaces to relax in. Supervised visits to the Armidale Town Centre for shopping and to the many other places of interest around our community and region are also available to our Boarders.
Our Health Centre is based in Austin House which is adjacent to the main Boarding House, Todd McBean, and is central to the College. The health centre is managed by our Nursing Sister who attends to any medical needs. She also transports girls to medical appointments.
During vacation periods, our Boarding Houses are also utilised by our community to accommodate people attending various camps, such as Orpheus Music Festival, the TAS Primary Rugby Carnival and the Northern inland Academy of Sports squads.
