Musical Excellence

Year 7 only

  • Available to a student entering Year 7.

  • Student must be a dedicated orchestral instrumentalist who has attained Grade 4 AMEB or equivalent.

  • The successful applicant will demonstrate excellence as a musician and a commitment to pursue music as a subject through to the HSC.

  • They will be required to continue their instrumental study to at least AMusA standard as well as participate in appropriate school instrumental ensembles.

  • Current PLC Armidale students and new applicants are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

  • This Scholarship is available to Australian citizens or permanent residents only.
  • A scholarship entitles the holder to part remission of tuition fees.
  • Scholarships are usually awarded for the full term of a student’s enrolment.

Years 5 to 11

  •  Current PLC Armidale students and new applicants are eligible to apply for these scholarships.

  • Scholarships are available to Australian citizens or permanent residents only.

  • A scholarship entitles the holder to part remission of tuition fees only.

  • Scholarships are usually awarded for the full term of a student’s enrolment.

how to apply 

  • Scholarships are awarded following an audition in conjunction with Academic Assessment Services exam results.
  • Register for the Academic Assessment Services Exam by completing the online application form. 
  • Applications for entry in 2021 OPEN NOW. 
  • Girls sitting the exam are welcome to spend an Experience day in class on the Friday and enjoy a night in the Boarding House on the Friday evening.
  • New applicants are also required to register for enrolment at PLC Armidale by completing a Registration form available here and remitting the registration fee.
  • Complete the respective Music Excellence (below) or Music Scholarship application form.
  • NB: Unsuccessful applicants for Musical Excellence Scholarship will also be considered for other music scholarships.
