PLC Armidale provides a range of flexible boarding options.
Full boarding is the most common arrangement where girls reside in the Boarding House during term time. All Boarders may apply for weekend leave with family and friends as approved by parents and Guardians.
International students are only permitted to stay with guardians, parents or College approved homestay arrangements in holiday periods.
Many students who live within an hour's drive of the College, enjoy the option of weekly boarding to allow them to return home to parents every weekend.
Weekly boarders are to return either Sunday evening by 8.30 pm or Monday morning by 8.00 am. Weekly boarders are expected to reside in the Boarding House from Monday to Friday.
This opportunity is regularly taken up by day students when families are travelling away from Armidale. This enables girls to continue to participate in their regular co-curricular commitments during this period of time and enjoy the boarding experience for a short while. The Boarding House welcomes this opportunity, even if only for a short period as the time is helpful in developing stronger bonds through shared experiences.
Some students become regular casual boarders (part time boarders). This is particularly helpful for girls who live a short distance from town, but wish to participate in a greater number of co-curricular activities than is possible when living out of town. This arrangement is also taken up by students wishing to be supported in supervised homework time for a night or two each week.
We also have a limited number of rooms available for our Boarding families to use when they visit.
