Dining @ PLC Armidale

Our College Dining Room is centrally located, being literally a "hop, skip and jump" from the Boarding House.

Our catering staff are employed by contract caterers Catercare, and take great pride in the presentation and nutritional value of the meals they prepare. The chefs regularly consult with the students about their favourite menu options, and the menu is checked by the Catercare Dietician. 

All meals are provided in the dining room and our boarders as well as day students are able to access toasters, boiling and ice water, microwave ovens and sandwich toasters during lunch hours.

Our Boarders are often treated to ‘theme’ or  event meals  providing a welcome break from the regular menu and routine. These have included events such as a Glow in the Dark Party, Christmas in July, Games in the Garden with Pub Style Dinner, Breakfast in bed, and Chinese New Year. The catering staff are always willing to go the extra mile to make these events special.

The dining staff are able to cater for students with specific dietary requirements, a letter of explanation is required at enrollment with the medical forms. 

The daily menu is as follows:

Breakfast

  • Cereals
  • Yoghurt, milk and soy milk
  • Bread and spreads
  • Hot food option on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday

Morning Tea

  • Homemade cakes or biscuits; or
  • Fresh fruit
  • Soups and Savoury items

Lunch

  • Variety of hot meals
  • Rolls, bread or wraps with a wide selection of salad and meat options
  • Fresh fruit

Afternoon Tea

  • Homemade cakes or biscuits; or
  • Fresh fruit
  • Soups and Savoury items

Dinner

  • Hot meal with meat and vegetable dishes
  • Dessert or entree

Supper

  • Fresh fruit, veggies and dips, or biscuits 
  • Hot drinks eg, Milo

Boarders have access to fridges and freezers in their common rooms should they wish to store their own food for use between meals.
