Alongside our rich academic program is a strong cultural, sporting and co-curricular offering. These activities enable students to learn a new skill, discover and develop talents and interests, whilst nurturing school spirit and friendships along the way.

All students in our Junior School study PDHPE and have sports lessons included in their Monday to Friday timetable. We also have regular fitness activities which involve all classes in our Junior School.

Outside of the classroom, the girls can play tennis, touch, basketball, indoor hockey, netball, or hockey depending on the season. Teams, coaching and training are organised at school and the girls can enjoy the opportunity to represent their school at local, state or national level.

Throughout the year there are opportunities to compete in swimming, athletics, gymnastics and cross-country at the Independent Primary Schools Heads Association (IPSHA) carnivals and competitions, along with the district PSSA competitions.

Sports offered include:

  • Athletics
  • Basketball
  • Cross Country
  • Hockey
  • Indoor Hockey
  • Netball
  • Swimming
  • Tennis (Private Coaching)
  • Touch

Music is an important part of our Junior School community. All of our Junior School girls are required to participate in either the Kindergarten-Year 2 Choir, or Years 3-6 Choir.

These are timetabled into the school day once a week. We also have an optional Junior Vocal Ensemble (called the "Treble Makers") which rehearses outside of class time, a Junior String Orchestra, and a Junior Wind Ensemble.

Many of our girls also elect to undertake private music lessons, usually provided by teachers from the New England Conservatorium of Music (NECOM). These lessons are conducted at either PLC Armidale or NECOM, before, during or after the school day by arrangement.
